Holiday Fun

What a busy and fun season! Anderson is doing great; he is now 12 weeks old. He is still not sleeping through the night (he gets up between 3:30 and 5 am every morning) so we are tired but he is a very happy and fun baby so we forgive him! :) Elle is so excited about Christmas and all the fun activities and she loves saying that "It is Baby Jesus Birthday Party soon!" She does not like Santa so she gets sad if I bring him up so we leave Santa out of the Christmas conversations! Here are a couple of pics from the last two weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving

It has been a great Thanksgiving holiday despite the family sickness that has been going around to each of us (even Anderson had a runny nose for a couple of days). We have been enjoying the holiday season and we got our tree up and decorated before the calendar flipped to December! Here are some pictures from the last week.

2 months

We have known Anderson for 2 whole months now. It feels like two years and two seconds all at the same time. Here are some pictures from the last couple of days. We have been busy despite Elle's double ear infection and Anderson's eating issues (which are seeming to get better). Right now, as I type, Elle is supposed to be napping and she is yelling out, "Cara, where are you?" from her bed! I guess she figured that since calling out to Mommy was not getting results she would try Cara!!

7 weeks & 31 months

Our babes are growing fast! Elle is 31 months and Anderson is 7 weeks. Things are getting more normal (a NEW normal) each week as we all adjust! Mom is getting more sleep but still getting up in the night for feeding time so TIRED is the new normal! Elle is adjusting to a little brother and Anderson is adjusting to a very hands on (and sometime those hands are pretty rough!) and loud older sister! We are looking forward to the holidays and enjoying the time with the kids because even though they are so hectic we know they pass quickly!

Halloween

We had two precious cows roaming the neighborhood on Halloween night! It was Elle's first time treat-or-treating and she had so much fun with her friend Kenley (who was Dorothy!). Elle was hysterical, yelling out after each house, "Mom, I got CANDY!" She could not believe that all these people were willingly handing out candy after she said "Trick-or-treat!"

Fall

This has been an absolutely beautiful fall! Good thing, because it has been so nice to get outside. Today was a fun fall festival at our neighborhood school. We are excited about Halloween weekend! We will put up some pics next week of our two cows! Here are some pictures from the last week.

30 Months and almost 3 weeks old

Elle is such a big girl and a great big sister! She is really acting out for the parents attention but we are very happy she is sweet to Anderson! Anderson is almost 3 weeks old and he is doing great. He does have reflux (we cannot believe we are lucky enough to have two reflux babies!) so there has been a lot of throwing up and crying but we are able to comfort him most times so that is good. We are very sleep deprived with middle of the night feedings and crying. It is a crazy time but a lot of fun! Here are some pics.

Anderson is here!

The Barfield babies just love to arrive fashionably late. Anderson finally arrived (11 days late) on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 4:40 pm. Anderson William Barfield is named after his dad and grandfather (Frederick Anderson II & III) and Cara's dad (Jon William). I was scheduled to be induced on Monday but my water broke at 1 am on Monday morning and we were at the hospital several hours later because of very close contractions. After a very rough labor and delivery, Anderson was born weighing 8 pounds, 10 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. We are thrilled he is finally here! It has been a crazy couple of days because Anderson was kept in the ICU an additional day because they wanted to watch him after breathing/mucus issues because of the very stressful delivery. We came home yesterday, September 23 and Papa and G were here from Colorado to welcome us home! Elle really loves Anderson, although she is experiencing a bit of a rough time because of the change (she is very needy and easily upset). Anderson is a good eater and sleeper and we have our fingers crossed that he will keep this up and be a laid back baby!

Elle just loves her new preschool! She loves talking about everything she does at school - especially eating her snack.

Baby is still not here so we have had a great relaxing week together. But we are ready for our fourth family member to get here!

First day of school & Halloween cow

Today Elle went to Peachtree Presbyterian Church preschool (2 1/2 year old) school for the morning! She loved her first day! She loves her teachers, friends, classroom and class pets (crabs!). Elle will go every Tuesday and Thursday morning.

I also tried on Elle's Halloween costume today and she loved being a cow! I have a cow outfit for Anderson so I thought that would be cute if they were both cows!! Halloween will be pretty funny!

Baby Belly

With less than two weeks to go, the belly is getting large! I have had several requests for a shot so here it is... we are excited for our new addition coming any time!

Colorado 2

What a great three weeks in Colorado! Here are several fun pics of our trip! Elle is almost 2 1/2 and here are a couple pictures of her at home. Colorado family - we miss you all SO MUCH!!

Colorado

It has been a busy and fun month with JS & Jordan's wedding and an almost three week trip to Colorado with the family! I will post more pictures when we return since we have been so busy hanging with all the family. Elle loves her older (Clara, 6 and Alyssa, 4) and younger (baby Asher and baby Kylie) cousins and is having so much fun playing all day long! We are enjoying the cool mountain atmosphere here in Estes Park this week; the Rocky Mountains are a prefect place to get out of the hot summer weather! Elle is really into wearing other peoples shoes so here are a few pics of that!!

Funny Girl

Elle has a crazy sense of humor. She is a very silly girl. We caught her on camera a couple of funny moments this week!

New Bed

It has been a busy summer month! Andy had a 10 day mission trip to Kenya to do construction on a school and work with the kids at that school. He had an amazing time and we missed him while he was gone! Elle and I packed those weeks full of activities! When Andy returned we spent a couple of days in St. Simons with YaYa when Andy worked in Savannah. The big news is that Elle is now in a "big girl" bed and out of her crib. She loves telling anyone who will listen about her new bed! She sleeps great at night but we are working on the naps! :) Here are some pictures from the month!

Imagine It!

G & Papa gave Elle (and the family) a year pass to Imagine It! Children's Museum and we have already been half a dozen times! We all love it! There is so much for Elle to do and the parents can relax while the kids play in the sand pits, go grocery shopping, do some wall painting, watch fun shows, play trains and many other things! Here are a couple of pictures!

Gym Joeys

Elle and Andy spent eight Saturday mornings at the YMCA's "Gym Joeys" class. It was so cute to see two year old kids attempting gymnastics with their parents help! Here are a couple of pictures with Kate, her best buddy at class. Elle has also been spending a lot of time play talking on the phone to YaYa, G, and Papa! We got some shots of her chatting away.

Busy Month!

We had a wonderful month filled with lots of fun and visitors! Christine and Travis visited from Chicago for a weekend! Then G, Papa & Phil came for a visit from Colorado and we had a family Birthday Party for Elle, and then we all went to St. Simons for a beach vacation! Last weekend was another beach trip to Seaside with all the girls for JS Bach Party! It has been an amazing month!

Happy Easter & Happy Birthday to Elle!

We had a wonderful Easter Sunday at Melissa and Drew's house! It was so fun to spend the beautiful day with Melissa, Drew and YaYa! Elle was a little under the weather but she loved playing with the gorgeous Easter baskets from YaYa and Melissa and she loved the Easter egg hunt! Then two days later we celebrated Elle's two year old Birthday! We can't believe it! Elle is officially a big girl and she is so funny when she answers, "I'm two" when you ask how old she is! She also can spell her name but she spells it "E..L..E." She is missing an L and it is so cute!

Jensen Turns One!

We had a fantastic time at Jensen's First Birthday! Lots of friends to celebrate with and so fun to have the family from NY and CO come to the party! Jensen was hilarious with the cake; he really was not interested and it made for fun Jensen watching! Happy Birthday, Jensen!!

Swim Lessons & The Zoo

Andy and Elle have had Saturday morning swim lessons for the last couple of weeks and it has been a lot of fun (mostly) for both of them! Sometimes Elle does not want to do what the instructor says so that can be extra fun for dad! But it sure does make for fun pictures!

PapaSwan and G gave us a family membership to the Atlanta Zoo for Christmas and we took a trip last weekend! It was so much fun for the three of us! Elle loved the elephants and flamingos the best; she spent a half hour at the flamingo exhibit and we had to bribe her with the elephant exhibit to convince her to keep moving! It was a great time! Thanks G and PapaSwan!

Second Christmas

Monica, Jensen, Elle and I flew to Chautauqua, NY to visit family and SURPRISE my parents that were also visiting! They did not know we were coming and we gave them a heart attack when we ran into living room when they arrived! It was a fabulous four day trip and there was more snow than in December! It was a wonderful second Christmas celebration with almost half the family there including Gram, my parents, uncle Jim and aunt Judi, aunt Suzanne and Scott drove from Penn State! We had a blast!!

22 Months

It is crazy that Elle is two months away from being two! We really cannot believe it!
We have had a busy winter so far with two beautiful weddings (YAH Lori and Hal!), hanging out with friends, daddy-daughter swim lessons on Saturday mornings and lots of other kids activities! Check some some recent pics.

Swimming & Snow

Andy and Elle decided to go swimming at the Y on the coldest day of the year! They had a lot of fun! It snowed today! Since we get snow once every couple of years, it was a pretty big deal! Elle was not too interested since she just saw 10 times as much in NY. Elle is 21 months now! She talks and sings all the time so there is never a dull moment!

Merry Christmas! Sorry about the delay with posts! It has been a busy December!

We had a wonderful Christmas - first at The Barfields and then in Chautauqua NY at Gram's house. We had so much fun and so did Elle! We had a wonderful time playing in the snow!
